Paul joined the office in January of 2016 bringing with him 150 jury trials worth of experience. As a former instructor at Boston University School of Law, and Assistant District Attorney in Middlesex County Paul has a wealth of courtroom experience. He litigates and brings to trial all types of cases in the office; automobile accidents, slip and falls, dog bits, and other personal injury cases. He’ll work with you in preparing the pre-trial discovery; interrogatories to be answered, documents to be produced, as well as meeting with you to prepare for your deposition by opposing counsel. If a trial is necessary Paul will make clear to you what to expect every step of the way.
Mediation & Arbitration
Part of Paul’s practice is as an Arbitrator & Mediator, where plaintiff’s lawyers and insurance company representatives hire him to hear personal injury claims. As a mediator he helps the parties negotiate a settlement. As the Arbitrator, he is akin to a private judge, hearing the evidence, taking testimony from witnesses, and rendering a final binding decision. A full description of Paul’s practice as a “neutral” can be found at www.paulrkelley.com. The website contains articles helpful to attorneys such as How to Win at Mediation; Smack, Take That Civility; and one of Paul’s favorites The Art of Saying Nothing.
Non-Legal Activities
Paul and his wife Diane live in Barnstable, Ma.
