Attorney James C. Crowley, Jr. comes to our office with over 25 years of litigation experience at the firm of Fuller, Rosenberg, Palmer and Beliveau in Worcester, primarily in the defense of personal injury claims, but also in the representation of injured parties. He brings invaluable perspective on how insurance companies defend claims that he will now employ to aggressively represent injured parties. Mr. Crowley has tried dozens of cases as lead counsel in courts throughout the state including tort claims and Chapter 93A claims.
Mr. Crowley attended Vermont Law School where he graduated in the top ten in his class and was an editor of the school’s law review. He also obtained a master’s degree in Environmental Law from Vermont.
After graduation, Mr. Crowley clerked for the Honorable Lee P. Gagliardi of the United States District Court for the Southern District of New York. Judge Gagliardi was a senior judge who specialized in trying cases which exposed Mr. Crowley to nearly 100 jury trials over two years. His duties included researching and writing draft decisions on pre-trial and post-trial motions, drafting bench memoranda, monitoring trial evidence and drafting jury instructions. As a senior judge, Judge Gagliardi sat in the District of Vermont, the Northern District of New York and the Middle District of Florida, exposing Mr. Crowley to practice in numerous jurisdictions. In addition, Judge Gagliardi also sat on panels of the Second Circuit Court of Appeals requiring Mr. Crowley to research appellate issues and draft bench memoranda and decisions.
Mr. Crowley received a B.A. in economics from Hamilton College. Between college and law school, he worked in marketing in the textile industry in New York City and the soft drink industry in Worcester.
Mr. Crowley has served on a number of boards and on the Worcester Historical Commission. His other interests include boating, skiing, hiking and reading.
